Edward D. Tracy is the Chief Executive Officer of The Tracy Group Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the development, design, implementation, and testing of Emergency Preparedness, Crisis Management, Information Technology Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity Management Programs for financial institutions, insurance company clients, colleges, governmental agencies, motion picture and television production companies, small and medium-sized companies, and not-for-profits.
Additional services provided by The Tracy Group include the performance of contractual entitlement, internal, and operational audits, the development of financial and strategic business plans, corporate accounting and financial policies and procedures, the packaging of motion picture production finance deals for independent film production companies, and conducting fire service management and training seminars. Mr. Tracy has served as an acting Chief Financial Officer for The Tracy Group Inc. clients, as requested.
Prior to founding The Tracy Group Inc., Mr. Tracy had a thirty-year career with Paramount Pictures Corporation in Hollywood, California, and was responsible for the enterprise-wide Business Continuity Management Program, the studio's Emergency Operations Center and Emergency Preparedness Program, the company-wide internal audit operations, and the implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance for corporate treasury functions and all motion picture costs relating to Paramount Pictures, Paramount Classics and DreamWorks Productions. Additional responsibilities included studio back-lot set lighting operations business development, mission-critical business partner contingency planning, production support, motion picture production finance, and the performance of confidential and sensitive special projects for top management.
Based upon his extensive and diversified experiences with the Paramount Pictures Corporation, he served on the Viacom Inc. (the parent company of Paramount Pictures Corporation) Business Continuity Planning Best Practices Committee.
In addition, Mr. Tracy was the Director of Internal Audit with the Diocese of Rockville Center, New York.
Mr. Tracy was also with a New York City-based "Big 8" public accounting firm responsible for the performance of financial audits of publicly held companies and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, along with holding the position of Adjunct Professor of Accounting at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York.
In addition, Mr. Tracy was over 55 years in the volunteer fire service, with a Long Island, New York, Fire Department (rising to the rank of Captain) and with a Southern California Fire Department located in Los Angeles County, serving as a Fire Chief for 18 years, 14 of which were Chief of Department. In addition, Mr. Tracy was the Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, Fire District.
Mr. Tracy is a frequent speaker at Business Continuity, Contingency Planning, Insurance Industry, and Fire Service Conferences.
